Gopala Krishnan, Managing Director and CEO

Summary:

Gopala Krishnan is a technology entrepreneur with over 20 years of professional experience in running start up & early stage venture funded companies as founder/co-founder/CEO in India and China. He has expertise and deep experience in Interactive Media, Interactive Marketing, Mobile/wireless services and several aspects of related technologies. He has raised capital from global Venture Capital Funds 5 times in his career for his previous companies.

Other than TimePass Media, he presently also heads HanIn, an investment management company with several active incubations in the digital and mobile space.

As a member of the HanIn panel, his incubation and advisory interests include ventures in digital music, multimodal content delivery platforms, local language services for mobile, interactive gaming, hosted enterprise IVR services and smart phone metering.

HanIn is currently negotiating a contract to manage an India Focused Venture Fund with an investment focus on Information Media, Entertainment and Communication Technology.

Gopala Krishnan is also assisting a young social entrepreneur, to launch a venture that targets the reduction of childhood deaths and disability in India - immunizeindia.org

Experience:

Gopala Krishnan was founder and CEO of Mobile2win in Shanghai and Mumbai. GK lived in China for 4 years. Mobile2win China was sold in 2006 to the Walt Disney Company. After attracting new leadership to Mobile2win in March 2007, and ensuring a smooth succession through June 2008, he has involved himself in HanIn - http://www.haninglobal.com

Before this, GK founded India's first online careers company which he sold to eVentures India, a fund promoted by Softbank, Newscorp and Mittals of Ispat. He then cofounded and headed technology as CTO and then business operations as COO for a well known Internet company in India.

Speaking Engagements and Papers:

He speaks often in various forums on mobile, interactive marketing, mobile entertainment as well as business issues relevant to the China-India corridor. He has been invited to speak at several national and International conferences. He speaks regularly for the last 4 years at an executive management program conducted by a leading global business school, INSEAD. His work in Mobile2win China is the subject of a case study at Stanford University and The National University of Singapore.

Nayan Shah, CFO

Summary:

Mr Nayan Shah has over 25 years of experience and a unique background that combines technology with finance. He is armed with an engineering degree from a reputed college as well as ICWA (Inter).

Experience:

An experienced CFO of manufacturing as well as services companies for over 16 years, his expertise spans Strategic Financial Planning, Budgetary Control and Financial management. He has deep experience in debt and project finance and has worked along with a diverse ecosystem of Banks & Financial Institutions, Big 4 consulting firms and also boutique as well as best in market financial and legal intermediaries / consultants. His work experience includes 5 years in non banking financial corporations, preparing him well for a position as CFO of TimePass Media.

Vasu Raghavachari, Senior Vice President (Revenue)

Vasu is a proven Revenue and Marketing domain expert from the Broadcast Television Industry with a decade of experience ranging from Aviation to Education.

He has spent over 7 years of his career in the thick of the rapidly developing cable distribution industry and has played a significant role in the development and penetration of cable and satellite television into the rural parts of the country. He has an unparalleled record of revenue generation and growth in broadcast distribution for the regions he has managed. Helming multiple successful regional launches, Vasu has placed and distributed various channels including regional, youth and kids channels for the nation’s biggest broadcaster.

He has managed the identification and development of revenue opportunity in the digital spectrum of broadcast including the creation and implementation of business strategy, marketing, product development and revenue management. His experience also covers content & revenue strategy, financial & operational models, negotiation and transaction management.

His deep experience is further enhanced by a management degree from the ISB, a Business School classified among the top 15 in the world by the Financial Times. His core skill lies in the innovative and sustained drive to revenue and acquisition in highly competitive market situations and environments. He subscribes to the philosophy that content has value far greater than merely as a vehicle for advertising.

Yashwant Chavan, Vice President (Cinema Operations)

Yashwant has over 12 years of experience in film exhibition and distribution.  He has worked extensively with the leading Exhibition Houses and Cinema Distribution companies across India. His experience has given him in-depth knowledge and instinct for the subjectivity and emotional value that entertainment industry holds. He has successfully headed the Content & Operational Divisions of Multiplexes and Single Screen Cinemas. He also has an extensive knowledge base and personal network in the Hindi Cinema Distribution fraternity.
