Our technology implementation intends to provide a high quality, practical and scalable solution which provides a great experience to the Indian audience. Our technology goal was to design and serve a cinema in small town and rural India with the quality standards of modern cinemas in the big urban centers.

Digital Cinema systems are more than what meets the eye. There are hundreds and thousands of elements and processes of Image, Data and Content Processing, Delivery, Security, Management and Play out playing their respective roles in sync with each other. At TimePass, Digital Cinema is not just a computer attached to the projector and sound system (unlike most other cinemas in India) but many more systems that help run, manage, operate, secure, monetise, monitor and control many cinemas in a large nationwide network. These systems blend R&D, Digital Cinema, Point of Sale, Networking Systems, Surveillance, Ticketing [Box Office, Call Centre, Web & Mobile], Collection Audit Systems, Payment Gateways, Material Inventory and RFID warehousing. And this is just the tip of the iceberg! There is a lot more that happens behind the scenes at the TimePass Operations and Processing Centers.

Timepass Digiplexes is not just a chain of cinemas but an entity that would provide a 360 degrees platform for the Motion Picture, Advertising, Education, Retail and F&B industries, a unique concept.

Technology at works at TimePass Digiplex Network:

TimePass offers advanced image and sound quality comparable with the best in India.

• Projection: The motion picture image will be played out through a full HD high contrast anamorphic projector. Its brightness would be perfect without any variance of a single lumen. Redundancy management with two mirrored projectors and a server backed by smart online, offline power management systems and gensets will ensure near 100% uptime at all Digiplexes.

• Playout: The motion picture image sequence shall be a codec that delivers excellent picture quality.

• Picture Quality: Quality at each Digiplex would be comparable with the best in India.

• Sound: Sound would be 100% digital, uncompressed 6 channel, played out on world class speakers, audio processors and amplifiers.

• Stereoscopic 3D enabled: Each and every Digiplex shall have 3 D capable.

• DRM and Security: The entire system shall have security standards that have been adopted by industry leaders.

• Piracy within the auditorium will be controlled by Infrared Cameras and watermark on Digital Prints.

• System Performance: The entire package of hardware and software has been extensively tested and optimized for Indian conditions. Components shall be procured from leading systems manufacturers and will be integrated and operated in very conducive and safe environments.

• Network: Networking will be the core of Timepass Digiplex Network with triple layer connectivity via Satellite and Dedicated Digital Virtual Private Network from at least two operators (wired and eireless).The entire Digiplex will be connected with all its vital components which would include:
  • The D-cinema server
  • The cinema server
  • The Projector
  • The Box Office Ticketing systems
  • The Virtual Manager (Facility and Theatre Management system)
  • The Hawkeye - A system that counts and reports the exact number of seats occupied in every show pre and post interval.
  • The F&B counters
  • The Retail Stores
  • The Gaming and Vocational Training systems
  • Surveillance systems
  All of the above shall be further connected to the Regional Operations Centre and the national Head Quarters. These Regional Operations Centre in consonance with the Head Quarters will track every element of operations and activity at each of the Digiplex.
